With a sunny average temperature of 72°F throughout the year, 72 miles of pristine beaches and a national ranking as one of the most affordable places to live, who wouldn’t want to call Brevard County home? The current county population of 564,359 is projected to climb to 620,000 by 2020. The area has attracted and continues to bring in residents from all walks of life, from sun and beach-town lovers to engineers and high-technology professionals. Single-family homes in the county represent around 65 percent of the housing market, while spacious condominium residences make up the additional 35 percent.

In addition to 72 miles of beach and miles of waterways, Brevard has 30 golf courses, 108 parks, numerous sports and boating facilities, 17,000+ acres of environmentally endangered lands, sanctuaries, and conservation areas to enjoy. With the average temperature in the mid-70's, outdoor activities can be enjoyed year-round.

Shopping, Entertainment, and Leisure: 

Brevard features premier entertainment and shopping destinations like Historic Downtown areas in Melbourne, Cocoa Village, and Titusville; Eau Gallie Arts District; King Center for the Performing Arts; 2 open-air shopping and dining venues: Hammock Landing in Palm Bay and the Avenues of Viera.  US192 and SR520 stretch from 1-95 to the beaches, and are populated with numerous restaurants and retailers, including two indoor shopping malls - Melbourne Square Mall and Merritt Square Mall.

 

Business Community:

Brevard County is home to many global high tech companies such as Harris Corporation, Northrup Grumman, and Rockwell Collins. The aerospace industry is a key component of the local economy both within the space program and elsewhere. Although NASA retired the space shuttle, there continues to be a busy schedule of unmanned Atlas and Delta rocket launches.

Northrup Grumman’s Project Magellan, an aerospace project, will bring 1,800 jobs and a $500 million capital investment to Brevard County in 2014-15. 

Brevard is also recognized for its other business sectors, including clean air manufacturing, transportation, defense, retail, sports and leisure, hospitality, construction, education, real estate, health care and financial services. One example is Port Canaveral, the 2nd busiest cruise port in the world, featuring seven cruise lines, and six major cruise terminals, as well as, being a deep-water seaport, with cargo services.
